Zen Trail

The Zen Trail is another installment from the St.George Utah/Gooseberry Mesa riding area. After you've ridden Gooseberry Mesa and Little Creek, come and ride this area which is home to several other rides. The Zen trail starts with a beat up old double track climb that makes you wonder if you are wasting your time. After about a mile on the double track, a faint single track appears. Follow this for another couple miles until you reach the rim (above). There's a bit of route finding with a handful of hike a bike sections and a spattering of trails that lead to nowhere. Always pick the route going up. The rim provides some great views. Directly below you is a vast network of trails including the Bear Claw Poppy Trail. The descent is just under 2 miles on single track and is not as technical as the ride up. At the bottom, hang a left on the double track towards the power station. Once you reach the power station, look up to the left and you'll see a single track. Take this to finish the ride on single track or proceed on the double track back to the start. Note: The Adventure Map suggests to do this ride in a clockwise fashion. We recommend that you ride it counter clockwise so that you have a single track downhill. Note: The trail is not signed so it's best to have a map (below)
